Project
Yes, it matters
Project description:
Coordinated by the Cazalla Intercultural association from Lorca (Murcia) with the support of Fundación Plan B, Proyecto Kieu and Jovesólides, the “No da igual” (Yes, it matters) project aims to promote gender equality in children and youth in Spain. It does this by turning them into peer educators who can incorporate gender equality into the lives of other youth in their age group.
The project objectives are:
• To train youth workers in both non-formal and formal education settings on the issues of gender-based violence and inequality by raising awareness of gender stereotypes and oppressive gender roles.
• Engage more than 1,000 children and youth in Spain in learning and action processes, employing learning methods and campaigns in schools and communities.
• Lobby for change in local, regional and national policy towards gender equality.
The main outputs of the project will be seminars, video tutorials, live broadcasts, local workshops in schools in the different communities where the project partners work, coliving weekends, awareness-raising campaigns, national and regional training courses, and an Equality Festival in Murcia city.
