Key Informants Network
Project description:
The main objective of this project was to set up and consolidate a Key Informants Network. The idea was for the network to meet the communicative needs of community members and to collect information from them, especially those who were not part of neighbourhood associations, civil society groups or local government. Their knowledge and recognition could promote the activation of participatory actions with the entire population of Salamanca. In this way, eight networks were created to represent eight different districts of the city.
Each of these networks was shaped by the familiarity and knowledge of the informants about their neighbourhood. In this way, interaction with citizens is enhanced and allows for two-way communication to be established with the Salamanca City Council.
Project objectives:
As part of the Salamanca Local Action Plan, the project had the following objectives:
- To bring the community’s needs, requests and proposals closer to the City Council and its departments that work in the implementation of projects that impact each network’s population and the city in general.
- To establish communication channels so that community members who are not part of neighbourhood associations, civil society groups or local government know of and participate in activities already implemented by the City Council, such as courses or participatory budgets.
